The Dallas Stars finish up their road games for the regular season tonight as they travel to Calgary to take on the Calgary Flames. This is a possible playoff opponent the Stars might have to face if they do make the 2022 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. The stars have to forget about another epic collapse that they had against the Edmonton Oilers last night. The stars also need to get two points against the Calgary Flames if they even want to think about the NHL Playoffs this season.

Dallas Stars vs Calgary Flames Preview: 3. Anyone but the top line please score

It’s nice having a top line of Pavelski, Robertson, and Hintz that can score when you need to. However, the other lines have to score to help relieve their pressure to carry the team on their backs. We are paying Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin north of 9 million to both of them and it would be nice if their lines could chip in on offense. The Stars desperately need the other lines to score tonight.

Dallas Stars vs Calgary Flames Preview: 2. Defense! Defense! Defense!

Allowing Scott Wedgewood to face 50 shots on goal last night against the Oilers is not acceptable. I don’t blame him if he hit an ice bath after the game to reduce the bruising from all the shots he took. We can’t allow Calgary to handle the puck in our zone for long periods of time tonight. I want to see the Stars check players into the boards and benches and keep the puck on Calgary’s side of the ice.

Dallas Stars vs Calgary Flames Preview: 1. Stop the “Dump and Chase”

The only time I’ll accept the “dump and chase” is if the Stars need to get some fresh bodies on the ice. From an offensive standpoint, I’m the type that likes to see the players skate into the zone with the puck and try to make something happen. It’s the kind of thing we need to change up our offense to get some goals on the board. I’m tired of hearing our announcers saying, “scoring has been an issue for a while.
