The Dallas Stars got some help from a fellow Pacific Division foe last night. After the San Jose Sharks beat the Golden Knights in a shootout, it was announced Dallas can clinch with a regulation win on Tuesday night. In terms of ramifications, this game is basically the “Super Bowl” of the Star’s regular season. I hope the Stars can capitalize on this wonderful opportunity to reach the postseason. Here are the keys to the game for the Stars if they want to go to the postseason.
Dallas Stars vs Vegas Golden Knights Preview: 3. Let Logan Thompson have all the pucks
Logan Thompson will most likely be the goaltender in net for the Vegas Golden Knights tonight. He’s a very good young goaltender and he’s very much on the path to being a starter like Jake Oettinger is. The Stars’ offense needs to test this young goaltender to see how many shots he can take before be breaks between the pipes.
Dallas Stars vs Vegas Golden Knights Preview: 2. Let’s continue to get other lines involved in offense
It was great seeing another line score on Saturday night as Vladislav Namestnikov scored against the Seattle Kraken. If the Stars want to be a viable threat tonight and in the postseason, other lines have to contribute to the scoring. Joe Pavelski and Sons can’t carry this team by themselves. If the Stars can get other lines to contribute tonight, might as well book our tickets for Calgary or Colorado.
Dallas Stars vs Vegas Golden Knights Preview: 1. Hit the Golden Knights till they bruise
Stars need to rack up their hits count tonight against the Golden Knights. They have some very crafty players that can create shot attempts. Stars need to check these guys into the boards before they can set up each other in Dallas’s end of the ice. It would be nice to see them be afraid of entering the Star’s zone.
