Dallas Stars vs Anaheim Ducks: 3rd period recap
Now fans that attended the game got to witness something unusual that doesn’t happen that often in the NHL. An Emergency Goaltender was brought in for the Ducks as Stolarz couldn’t come back into the game due to an injury that was looked at during the 2nd intermission. Thomas Hodges who was the Emergency Goaltender on hand would come out in Stars colored pads to fill in for the Ducks for the remainder of the game.
Unfortunately, Hodges wasn’t ready for a power play and Jason Robertson would score his 41st of the season to make it 3-2 Stars. Vladislav Namestnikov would score the empty netter for a final of 4-2 Stars.
Stars would have to wait for the conclusion of the Nashville Predators and Arizona Coyotes to find out who they play. After the game, the Stars were lucky enough to move up to the first wildcard spot in the Western Conference and get to play the Calgary Flames in the first round.
