The Dallas Stars have a huge game tonight up in Calgary. Whoever wins this game can push the other team to the brink of elimination on Friday night. The Stars desperately need to get this win on the road if they want to continue to the Conference Semi Finals. In the last game at home, Oettinger is proving he can flat out play during the postseason. The rest of the team now needs to step up and help him. Here are the keys to the game for Dallas going into Game 5 vs the Flames.

Dallas Stars vs Calgary Flames: 3. Attack Markstrom

The Dallas Stars need to stop the “dump and chase” style of offense they have been running. They need to send everything they have at Jacob Markstrom tonight. If that means carrying the puck into the zone and start shooting, then it needs to be done. Stars need to get to the front of net for rebounds as well. Offense has to be the priority tomorrow night to build an early lead.

Dallas Stars vs Calgary Flames: 2. Get out of your own zone

I can’t believe that Dallas allowed Calgary to walk into game 4 and set up shop multiple times in their own zone. That can’t happen if they want to steal this game on the road and win game 5. Stars have to be assertive and steal the puck from the Flames and skate the puck into their zone. It will help Jake Oettinger in the long run if he is the starting goaltender tomorrow night in Calgary.

Dallas Stars vs Calgary Flames: 1. Embarrass the National Media

The Stars need to embarrass the Flames on their home ice tomorrow night. I’m tired of listening to the announcers on the national TV feed talk about their “Man Crush” they have on the Calgary Flames. If the Stars can run up the score and chase Markstrom from this game, they will be forced to talk about how good the Stars are doing during the game. It’s time Dallas gets some fair coverage from the national media broadcasting the game.
