Well, I think the Dallas Stars players were wanting a different outcome in last night’s game. The Minnesota wild won 5-2 in Dallas last night. Ty Dellandrea played his butt off on both ends of the ice and was rewarded with a goal. Also, newly acquired defenseman Nils Lundkvist did get his first goal as a Dallas Stars player. There were some good things that the Stars did last night that I want to get into in this article. Here are the takeaways from the 5-2 loss to the Wild last night.

Dallas Stars vs Minnesota Wild Recap: 3. Ty Dellandrea is NHL ready

Ty Dellandrea is more than ready to be promoted from Cedar Park to Victory Park. Ty Dellandrea was all over the ice last night helping on both ends of the ice. Ty Dellandrea scored the Stars first goal of the night and tied the game up midway through the first period. It does suck that he did get injured when trying to block a shot last night. He will be out for two weeks with a broken finger. The good news is he will not need surgery to repair that finger. Hopefully, the injury will not cost him being in Cedar Park to start the season.

Dallas Stars vs Minnesota Wild Recap: 2. Anton Khudobin will be playing somewhere else this season

It looks like Khudobin’s final minutes with the Dallas Stars were last night. I don’t see Anton Khudobin making the final roster this season after how he played last night. The Stars have Scott Wedgewood and he is only a million dollars against our cap space. Khudobin will most likely end up playing on another NHL Team or down in Cedar Park for the final season of his contract.

Dallas Stars vs Minnesota Wild Recap: 2. Top Prospects are still with the team

The Dallas Stars’ top prospects are still on the roster after they cut the team down to 45 players today. I still expect that Mavrik Bourque ends up in Cedar Park and Wyatt Johnston goes back to the Windsor Spitfires of the OHL. Logan Stankoven might make the Stars this season due to the chemistry Jamie Benn and him are currently having on the lower lines. It will be interesting to see if any top prospect graduates to the Stars roster this season.
