The Dallas Stars continue their Canadian roadtrip as they make a pit stop in Montreal to take on the Canadiens. This is a very historic team that the Stars are taking on tonight. They are one of the original six founding members of the NHL. The Stars have to come into this game limiting the penalties they commit. In their previous game against the Maple Leafs, they committed eight penalties which is way too many. Here are the keys to the game if they want to start a new win streak.
Dallas Stars vs Toronto Maple Leafs Preview: 3. Balance Their Game
The Stars came out way too aggressive against the Maple Leafs a couple of nights ago. They have to find a balance with being aggressive and knowing when not to. It’s something that the team needs to find starting tonight. I don’t expect them to find the perfect balance tonight and it might take a couple of games to find that. It’s just something I saw in the last game that they need to find out now instead of in a pivotal game later in the season.
Dallas Stars vs Toronto Maple Leafs Preview: 2. Benn’s Line Has To Get Producing
One thing that is super concerning four games into the season is we haven’t seen Benn’s line get in on the scoring. We’ve seen the other lines contribute to scoring but it would be nice to see Benn’s line get in on the fun. If Benn’s line can start getting some goals starting tonight, it would send a strong message to the rest of the league.
Dallas Stars vs Toronto Maple Leafs Preview: 1. Contain Caufield and Suzuki
The Stars need to make sure to contain Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield tonight. Right now they are the top goal scorers for the Canadiens. You can not let either player get hot or else you can kiss the win goodbye. The Stars have to account for them on the ice at all times and make sure they don’t touch the puck. I would hate to see the Stars lose a second straight game because they didn’t contain these two all-star players.
