The Dallas Stars will see a familiar face on Tuesday night in Winnipeg. They will be taking on former coach Rick Bowness and the Winnipeg Jets. Rick Bowness wasn’t able to coach in the first matchup due to him coming down with Covid-19. The Stars can’t let their emotions get the best of them, The Jets are right behind them in second place in the Central Division. The Stars just have to go out there and play their game like they have this season. Here are the three keys to the game as the Stars go up against their former coach.
Dallas Stars vs Winnipeg Jets Preview: 3. Continue attacking the net
In the last couple of games, the Stars have scored at will on their opponents. They have scored 13 goals in the last two games. I expect the Winnipeg Jets to simmer the scoring for the Stars tonight so don’t expect them to drop 5 goals. With that in mind, the Stars need to get out to the early lead in case they have a collapse in the third period.
Dallas Stars vs Winnipeg Jets Preview: 2. Contain Mark Scheifele And Pierre-Luc Dubois
These two players are going are going to be a handful on Tuesday night with Scott Wedgewood in net. Right now Scheifele and Dubois are their top two players in terms of scoring this season. Scheifele has six goals while Dubois has five goals. The Stars defense has to be ready for both of these players. They handled McDavid with ease on Saturday afternoon so we if they can do it again.
Dallas Stars vs Winnipeg Jets Preview: 1. Make Rick Bowness regret leaving the Stars
I have a theory on how Rick Bowness left the Stars and I’ll tell you what that is. I think that the Stars front office wanted to give him one final year to get back to the playoffs and he turned it down. Now that the Stars have Pete DeBoer as the head coach, they look like a completely different team. It would be awesome to show him on Tuesday night that all he had to do was tweak his offensive strategy.
