The Dallas Stars vote the New York Islanders out of Dallas 5-2
On last night’s episode of Survivor: NHL edition, the Dallas Stars voted the Islanders out of the city of Dallas 5-2. In all seriousness, it was a great game from the Dallas Stars with an abundance of highlights. Such highlights Jamie Benn looking like “Sochi Benn” to Ryan Suter actually making a huge save. Jake Oettinger is turning back into prime Jake Oettinger after the injury. I could go into more of these but let’s look at the three main takeaways from Saturday’s game.
Dallas Stars vs New York Islanders Recap: 3. Tyler Seguin hits milestone
Tyler Seguin has been stuck on 699 points for a while and he finally got that milestone point tonight on an assist on Radek Faksa’s goal. Tyler Seguin is the first player from the 2010 draft class to get to the 700 points plateau during their career. That’s a pretty huge accomplishment for any NHL player to accumulate that many points. Seguin should be proud of his accomplishment and I know that he will get to the 1,000-point milestone in the future.
Dallas Stars vs New York Islanders Recap: 2. Jason Robertson is Thanos
Jason Robertson is starting to turn into the Marvel villain Thanos because his goal scoring becoming “inevitable”. Jason Robertson extended his point streak to 11 games Saturday night. Unfortunately for Roope Hintz, his streak was snapped tonight since he did not play. Robertson will probably eclipse Patrick Sharp’s point streak here at home later this week. I wouldn’t be surprised at the All-Star break we start seeing Robertson’s name on some postseason award watchlists.

Dallas Stars vs New York Islanders Recap: 1. the Blackout Jersey curse is broken
After tonight’s win against the Islanders, the Blackout Jersey curse has been lifted off the Stars. The Stars are now 1-2 wearing those jerseys this season. Hopefully, the Stars can get some more wins in those jerseys to keep them around. For now, the Stars need to turn their attention to the defending Stanley Cup champs Monday.
