The Stars kick off their three game roadtrip with a stop in Colorado. The Dallas Stars will be taking on the Colorado Avalanche Saturday night. The Stars will be wearing their victory green jerseys since Colorado will be wearing their Retro Reverse jerseys. The Stars recently lost to the Avalanche at home in a shootout during their four game home stand. They look to get revenge tonight on Colorado’s home ice tonight. Here are the three keys to tonights game in Colorado.

Dallas Stars vs Colorado Avalanche Preview: 3. Attack Early

The Stars need to attack early on the road to take the rowdy Avalanche crowd out of it. The Stars have had a tough time recently building a huge lead out of the gate. They will need to since the Avalanche have a really good offense and can take control in a moments notice. Every line has got to get into the scoring on this roadtrip. Jason Robertson is not Luka Doncic and cant drop 3+ goals every game.

Dallas Stars vs Colorado Avalanche Preview 2. Protect the net

Like I mentioned in the paragraph above, the Stars have to play defense in their own zone tonight. I know I sound like a broken record saying that, but the Avalanche have some really good players that can score at a moment’s notice. Mikko Rantanen and Valeri Nichushkin are their top two goal scorers going into this matchup. If the Stars can’t play defense in their own zone, this will be a long night.

Dallas Stars vs Colorado Avalanche Preview 1. Wedgewall time

After all the playing time that Jake Oettinger has had in the last week, it’s time to give him the night off. When I saw Oettinger lead the team out for warmups against Winnipeg, I knew Wedgewood was going to start Saturday. Scott Wedgewood is fully healed and can play on this road trip.
