The Dallas Stars go duck hunting tonight at the American Airlines Center
The Dallas Stars welcome the Anaheim Ducks to the American Airlines Center on Tuesday night. This will be the first time that we play them this season. It’s also the first time that John Klingberg will be returning to the AAC after signing with the Ducks this offseason. It’s kind of ironic that the Stars gave Roope Hintz an 8-year extension two days before we played him. It will be an interesting night for sure. Here are the three keys to the game for the Stars.
Dallas Stars vs Anaheim Ducks Preview: 3. Hip Hip Roope!
Roope Hintz should be energized after signing that 8-year extension on Monday. It will be interesting to see how he comes out of the gate on his first shift. Usually, when players sign an extension they usually have a breakout game. Let’s hope his linemate Jason Robertson sets him up for a couple of goals tonight so he can extend his point streak. I wouldn’t be surprised if Roope came away with at least two goals tonight to lead the Stars to victory.
Dallas Stars vs Anaheim Ducks Preview: 2. No Michigan
Trevor Zegras will not be doing “the Michigan” to any of our goaltenders tonight. He is second on the Ducks in overall goals with eight of them. The Stars have to keep an eye on him at all times in their zone. He is a very crafty player with some stealth built into his game.
Troy Terry is another player to watch out for on the Ducks. He is their leading scorer going into this matchup and has ten goals this season. Stars will have their hands full tonight containing both of these two players.
Dallas Stars vs Anaheim Ducks Preview: 1. How many Ducks will they shoot down?
In order to have a successful “duck hunt” you have to score goals. The Stars have some good goal-scorers on their team and can rack up goals. Since this is their first time playing the Ducks this season, I’m predicting that the Stars will have at least 3 “ducks” by the end of the night.
