It’s going to be a battle of the young guns tonight at the American Airlines Center. Jason Robertson and the Dallas Stars face off against Mitch Marner and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Both teams have players with point streaks going into this matchup. Jason Robertson has his 18-game point streak and Mitch Marner has his 19-game point streak. This is the first time in NHL history we have two players with 18+ game point streaks going up against each other.

Dallas Stars vs Toronto Maple Leafs Young Guns Preview: 3. Time to end someone’s streak

The Dallas Stars need to end Mitch Marner’s point streak. We can not allow Marner to get hot early on in the game. If he wants to continue that point streak, he will have to earn it. Let’s not have a repeat of what happened on Sunday Afternoon where we allowed the Minnesota Wild to get three goals within a couple of minutes during the second period. If the Stars can shut down Maple Leaf’s young guns Marner and Matthews, I like our chances of winning tomorrow night.

Dallas Stars vs Toronto Maple Leafs Young Guns Preview: 2. Feed Robertson the puck

The Stars have got to keep feeding Jason Robertson the puck. Jason Robertson is still currently leading the NHL in goals right now with 23 goals this season. He can advance his point streak to 19 tonight against the Maple Leafs with an assist or a goal. With the way that the top line is currently playing and after the comeback Sunday afternoon, I wouldn’t be surprised if Robertson extended his streak to 19.

Dallas Stars vs Toronto Maple Leafs Young Guns Preview: 1. Chase the Maple Leafs out of town

I think the Maple Leafs will be a bit surprised at how packed the American Airlines Center will be tonight. With Marner and Matthews coming into town for the only time this season, Stars fans will pack the AAC to see them tonight. I want it to be loud as heck in the arena tomorrow night. Fans have to make the Maple Leafs uncomfortable tomorrow night forcing them into some turnovers. At the end of the night, they should want to head to the plane immediately.
