In all seriousness please don’t go slash anyone’s tires, you will end up in jail. The Dallas Stars look to do that as they host the Detroit Red Wings tomorrow afternoon at the American Airlines Center. The Detroit Red Wings are 1-2 on their current road trip and look to even it up against the Stars. The Stars can’t overlook the Red Wings, teams in the basement of the respective division are the toughest teams to play against. Here are the three keys to the game against the Wings.

Dallas Stars vs Detroit Red Wings Preview: 3. Beware of Dominik Kubalik

The Stars cannot lose sight of Kubalik tomorrow afternoon. He is the leading goal scorer for Detroit Red Wings going into the matchup with Dallas. They like to set him up directly in front of the net so he can send pucks into the net. The Dallas defenseman must clear him out in front of our goaltender.

Dallas Stars vs Detroit Red Wings Preview: 2. Don’t choke away the lead

Let’s not do what we did in the first period against the Ottawa Senators. Let’s get the lead and not lose it. That’s probably the one thing that really irked Coach DeBoer on Thursday night. Miro Heiskanen gave us a two-goal lead and near the end of the first period, the Stars choke it away. That can’t happen against the Red Wings today. Let’s take the lead and floor it all the way until the final horn sounds.

Dallas Stars vs Detroit Red Wings Preview: 1. Let’s make quality shots on the power play

The Stars the last couple of games have gone back to passing the puck excessively on the power play. I understand that you need to pass it around until you get a good shot attempt at the net. It’s just the last two games it seems like the Stars kept passing it around even if they did have a good shot attempt. Focus on getting the puck on the net and get a deflection which results in a goal.
