Dallas Stars enter the Devil’s Den as they take on the New Jersey Devils
After the very tough defeat to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday night, the Dallas Stars are back at it again Tuesday. They enter the Devil’s Den as they take on the New Jersey Devils Tuesday night. It will be very interesting to see how the Stars start the game as they will probably still be tired from Monday night. They also have to deal with one of the best offenses in the Eastern Conference right now which is not ideal for a back-to-back. Here are the three keys to the game against the Devils.
Dallas Stars vs New Jersey Devils Preview: 3. Shut down Jack Hughes
The last person that I want to see have a career night Tuesday is Jack Hughes. He is their leading goal scorer going into tonight’s game. The defense has to shut him down if they want a shot at beating the Devils. The Stars have had issues with shutting down some of the best players in the NHL recently and this a perfect game to turn this trend around.
Dallas Stars vs New Jersey Devils Preview: 2. Protect Scott Wedgewood
I mentioned on Twitter last night that we will be seeing Scott Wedgewood between the pipes tonight. There’s no way that Pete DeBoer would put a tired Jake Oettinger up against such a good offense. Scott Wedgewood is well rested and I have total confidence in him to give the Stars a chance at winning tonight’s game. He just needs some offensive support in front of him.
Dallas Stars vs New Jersey Devils Preview: 1. Forget Pittsburgh
The Stars need to completely forget what happened last night against the Penguins. It’s in the past and there’s nothing they can do about the outcome now. They will get another shot to get revenge against the Penguins on March 23rd. They need to focus on finishing off the road trip strong by beating the red-hot New Jersey Devils tonight and focusing on the Washington Capitals Thursday night.
