Dallas Stars lose to the Pittsburgh Penguins in final minute of game
This game will a tough loss to swallow for the Dallas Stars. The Stars were getting their shots on net against the Penguins and just couldn’t get any of them past Tristan Jarry. Evgeni Malkin scored in the final minute of the game to edge the Stars 2-1. The Stars played an all-around great game and it was just one mistake that cost them a point. The Stars will have to quickly get over the loss as they head to New Jersey to take on the Devils tomorrow night. Here are three takeaways from the Penguins game.

Despite the loss, Jake Oettinger was fantastic in net against the Penguins. It was just one bad deflection off one of his pads which cost the Stars tonight. He kept the Stars in the game despite all the shots from Malkin and Sidney Crosby. The Stars just needed to give him the offensive support he deserved to win the game tonight. He will most likely be off tomorrow night against the New Jersey Devils.
Dallas Stars vs Pittsburgh Penguins Recap: 2. Nils Lundkvist and Miro Heiskanen work
Nils Lundkvist continues to be a really good defensemen tonight as he was paired with Miro Heiskanen. He even got promoted mid game as he got to be on the second power play line late in the game. He continues his point streak tonight as he had the primary assist on Roope Hintz goal 15 seconds into the game. Pete DeBoer has got to continue to find ways to incorporate him into the game plan as the season moves along. There’s no way he should be benched unless he’s injured.

The Stars have got to learn to have a guy on the other side of the ice if the puck goes off the goalies pad. There were some goal attempts tonight that would have went in if there was a Stars player ready for the rebound. It something that the Stars need to get better at because they will need to cash in rebounds against the red hot New Jersey Devils tonight.
