Nothing like getting a taste of your own medicine on the road, am I right? The Dallas Stars fall to the LA Kings late last night 3-2. It seemed like the Stars just gave up in the second half of the third period as they reverted to their old “dump and chase” tactic. However, the Stars can’t mope around on this loss as they have a game against the Anaheim Ducks tomorrow night in Anaheim. Here are the three takeaways from tonights game against the Kings.

Dallas Stars vs LA Kings Recap: 3. Stars offense was MIA

The Dallas Stars offense went missing against the LA Kings. Other than the goals from Jason Robertson and Miro Heiskanen, it was a very slow night for an offense that averages three goals a game. They had their chances tonight but just couldn’t convert. If the offense continues to be sluggish moving forward, might need to change up our game plan on offense.

Dallas Stars vs LA Kings Recap: 2. Ryan Suter needs to be scratched

The Stars need to look at possibly scratching Ryan Suter from upcoming games. Tonight against the Kings, he was sluggish moving up the ice and getting back on defense. Teams are starting to take advantage of some of his on ice mistakes which could cause problems down the road. The Stars have Will Butcher and Thomas Harley they could call up to replace Suter until he learns he’s a liability.

Dallas Stars vs LA Kings Recap: 1. The little things

The Stars could have had a different outcome to the game tonight if they didn’t make a couple of little mistakes.  Collin Miller made a bad pass during a line change which resulted a LA Kings goal. In the third period, Seguin committed a penalty which resulted in the Kings getting the game-winning goal. If the Stars would have tightened up in the third period, we could have gotten a point from tonight. Stars have to quickly shift their attention to the Ducks now.
