After three days of rest for the Dallas Stars, they return to the ice this afternoon against the Florida Panthers. Those two games earlier this week on the west coast need to be forgotten. With a win on Sunday afternoon, the Stars can put those games behind them. It won’t be an easy task as the Florida Panthers look to continue the winning streak they started against the Detroit Red Wings. Let’s look at the three keys of the game for the Dallas Stars against the Panthers.
Dallas Stars vs Florida Panthers Preview: 3. Let’s get all the lines scoring again
As I mentioned in my editorial Friday, we need to get all the lines scoring again. We can’t keep relying on Pavelski and Sons to provide the offense. We need Tyler Seguin’s line to chip in some goals. Even Jamie Benn’s line needs to provide some offense. The Stars are at their best when all the lines are contributing by scoring goals. It’s like a train without breaks going full-speed downhill at their opponent. They need to get back to this type of hockey this afternoon against the Panthers.
Dallas Stars vs Florida Panthers Preview: 2. Contain Florida’s offense
The Stars will have to shut down the Panther’s offense this afternoon in order to win the game. Matthew Tkachuk and Carter Verhaeghe are the two players that the Star’s defense needs to shut down. Stars fans remember Tkachuk from the playoff series against the Flames last season. If these two players can get the puck into the net this afternoon. The Stars could be adding to that losing skid.
Dallas Stars vs Florida Panthers Preview: 1. Let’s get that first win of 2023
The Stars are still searching for their first win of 2023 after losing to the Anaheim Ducks and LA Kings. They had a nice three days to relax and refocus for the remainder of the 2022-23 season. Let’s get that first win of 2023 at home this afternoon and do it in Texas Hockey fashion.
