The Dallas Stars look to conclude their New York Tour with a win against the New York Rangers. The Stars won a win against the New York Islanders due to a fantastic performance by the one and only Jake Oettinger. The Stars will need some players to contribute goals with Roope Hintz out of the lineup due to an upper-body injury against the Florida Panthers. Let’s see if the Stars can pull off a clean sweep of the New York Teams. Here are the three keys to the game tonight against the Rangers.

Dallas Stars vs New York Rangers Preview: 3. Take advantage of Chris Kreider out

The Stars need to take advantage of Chris Kreider being out of the lineup tonight. This basically levels the playing field as Roope Hintz is still out with an injury. With both players out, this makes this an even matchup for tonight in Madison Square Garden. The Stars need to win games when their opponent is down one of their best scorers. Hopefully, the Stars can come out of here with two points against the Rangers.

Dallas Stars vs New York Rangers Preview: 2. Defense needs to step it up tonight

The Stars defense in the last game against the Islanders was below satisfactory performance. They need to step it up here tonight against the Rangers. They need to make sure they are covering their assignment on the ice and making it hard for them to get the puck cleanly. Even Miro Heiskanen needs to step it up tonight against the Rangers. They will be needed big time tonight as the Rangers have a lot of scorers that can shift the momentum of the game.

Dallas Stars vs New York Rangers Preview: 1. Need guys to contribute goals

The Stars need to step up and score goals tonight with Roope still out of the lineup. Jason Robertson and Joe Pavelski can’t carry this team by themselves. Wyatt Johnston, Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn, and others have to contribute on offense. If the Stars can get players not on the top line to score tonight, I like our odds with a sweep of the New York hockey teams.
