That was an excellent response from the Dallas Stars tonight after the game this past weekend. The Stars walked into Las Vegas and got a victory green royal flush at the poker tables. The Stars would beat the Golden Knights 4-0 Monday night as Jake Oettinger earns his 3rd shutout of the season. I don’t think the Stars did one wrong thing tonight on the ice. We got depth scoring which the Stars have desperately needed. Let’s take a look at the Stars win over the Golden Knights tonight.

Dallas Stars vs Las Vegas Golden Knights Recap: 3. Stars got some depth scoring tonight

The Stars have desperately needed players who aren’t on the top line to step and score over the last couple of games. We had goals from Jamie Benn, Joel Kiviranta, and I can’t believe I’m even typing his name out, Ryan Suter. I mean the Vegas Golden Knights have to fold their franchise after a 38-year-old defenseman scores his first goal of the season on you.

After tonight’s game, the Stars need to keep Jamie Benn and Ty Dellandrea on the same line. Those two definitely have some good chemistry and hopefully, DeBoer keeps them together when Roope Hintz more than likely joins the team in California.

Dallas Stars vs Las Vegas Golden Knights Recap: 2. Vintage Jake Oettinger

After losing his shutout in the final milliseconds against the New York Rangers, he got his well-deserved shutout tonight. Jake Oettinger picked up his third shutout of the season tonight with the win over the Golden Knights. According to StatsCentre, Jake Oettinger has the fifth most wins by a US goalie in their first 110 games in the NHL. You know the St. Louis Blues are kicking tires after seeing the Stars trade up to take the franchise goalie they wanted.

Dallas Stars vs Las Vegas Golden Knights Recap: 1. This was Texas Hockey

This game was straight up the definition of Dallas Stars Hockey last night. The Stars brought the defense and shut down their two best scorers on the team. They even got goals from people who usually don’t score. If the Stars can follow this game plan for the rest of the season, the Stars could be winning the Central Division this year. The road trip continues as the Stars head out to California next to the Shark Tank to take on the Sharks tonight.
