That was a lot better performance from the Dallas Stars last night than what we saw in San Jose. Scott Wedgewood gets his first-ever shutout with the Stars as they blank the LA Kings 4-0. Scott Wedgewood deserves that shutout, especially after his last start against Calgary. He has totally redeemed himself last night and Stars fans should be happy he is our backup goaltender. Let’s take a look at the three takeaways from last night’s win against the Los Angeles Kings.
Dallas Stars vs Los Angeles Kings Recap: 3. Tyler Seguin is on fire
I don’t know what has happened to Tyler Seguin recently. When the Stars moved him up to the top line while Roope Hintz is recovering from an injury, he can’t stop scoring. He had a multi-goal game tonight and fans on Twitter were buzzing about him when he went on hat trick watch in the first period. The Stars could have a huge dilemma when Hintz returns to the lineup. I don’t know if Pete DeBoer wants to interrupt the emergence Tyler Seguin is having recently.
Dallas Stars vs Los Angeles Kings Recap: 2. Great bounce back from last night
That was a great response from the Dallas Stars after Wednesday’s complete collapse in San Jose. They played defense all three periods tonight and shut down the King’s offense tonight. The Stars could have come out of the locker room and played as they did in Anaheim the last time they were on the coast and didn’t. Let’s see if the Stars can carry the momentum from tonight’s matchup to Saturday night against the Coyotes.
Dallas Stars vs Los Angeles Kings Recap: 1. Wedgewall redemption
I remember when all the Dallas Stars fans wanted Wedgewood’s head after the Calgary game for his terrible play. Well, those fans were certainly silent tonight as Wedgewood picked up his first-ever shutout with the Dallas Stars. He stopped all 34 shot attempts that the Kings gave him last night. He redeemed himself from that Calgary game and deserves that shutout that he earned.
