In honor of Antman and the Wasp: Quantumania coming out later this month, I thought I would make a Stars twist with it.  As I’m sure you all know by now that Logan Stankoven is the top-rated prospect in the Stars organization right now.

Since we already call Jason Robertson “Thanos” cause of his inevitable scoring ability, Stankoven should be called “Kang the Conqueror.” His ability to find the back of the net constantly has Stars fans dreaming of the day when he joins the lineup next season. It’s a travesty that he had to go back to Canada since he already dominated junior hockey last season. Let’s take a look at why NHL teams should fear Logan Stankoven next season.

Logan Stankoven “Kang the Conqueror”: 3. His ability to score

Last season, Stankoven dominated junior hockey scoring 45 goals and racking up 59 assists as well. After getting an extended look at Dallas Stars training camp this season, he’s doing it again. In only suiting up 29 games so far this season for the Blazers, Stankoven is up to 25 goals and 40 assists. One of my friends texted me after his game-winning hat trick goal against the Tri-City Americans and only had this to say about him, Connor McDavid Jr.

Logan Stankoven “Kang the Conqueror”: 2. Ability to handle himself against bigger players

The biggest question the Stars organization have about Stankoven is whether can he handle players bigger than him. Well, he kind of answered that at the World Junior Championships in January. Stankoven was able to box out bigger players in front of the net in order to get rebounds. He has also put a couple of taller players on their butts in Blazers games this season.

In this Daily Faceoff article written by Colton Davies, he sat down with Dallas Stars Director of Amateur Scouting Joe McDonnell. McDonnell mentioned in the article that Stankoven competes like a pit bull. I can see why the Stars turned in his card when he fell right into the Stars’ lap at pick 47 of the 2021 NHL Draft.

Logan Stankoven “Kang the Conqueror”: 1. Ability to set up his teammates

The one thing that has stuck out to me this season is how well Stankoven has been able to set up his teammates. The fact he has been able to get 40 assists so far in such a short time is nothing but remarkable. When he gets up to the Dallas Stars next season, he will fit in on Seguin’s line and help him create some more scoring chances.

In conclusion, Stankoven is going to be a force in this league for years to come. Fans should be excited about his arrival next year. Stankoven’s ability to find the back of the net constantly and set up his teammates is the reason why he’s earned the nickname Kang the Conqueror. In the words of Kang himself, Stankoven would probably tell Stars fans right now, “see you soon.”
