The Dallas Stars welcome the Minnesota Wild to town for the final time this season tonight. The Stars are in for a treat as Kirill Kaprizov and Jason Robertson face off once again this season. If you remember, Robertson and Kaprizov were the top two in the Calder trophy race in 2021. It’s always a battle between these two when these teams face off. Hopefully, the Stars can win tonight in regulation instead of causing fans’ heart rates to fluctuate as they did on Monday night.

Dallas Stars vs Minnesota Wild Preview: 3. Capitalize with the extra man

The Stars went 0-5 on the power play on Monday night against the Ducks and it almost cost the Stars the game. The Wild are a couple of steps up from the Ducks and have some excellent scorers on their team. The Stars have to capitalize on their extra man opportunities to take the Wild out of the game tonight. If the Stars can’t capitalize on the power play tonight against the Wild, it could give the Wild some momentum to steal a win on the road.

Dallas Stars vs Minnesota Wild Preview: 2. Stop Kaprizov

Kaprizov is the deadliest player on the Wild’s roster and they can’t let him get going early. Going into the matchup with the Stars tonight, he has 28 goals and 32 assists. Miro Heiskanen needs to be guarding him every time he is in the Stars zone tonight. The last thing that needs to happen is him getting the first goal tonight and giving the Wild a lot of momentum. If the Stars can guard him and keep him at bay tonight, the Stars will likely add another two points to their record.

Dallas Stars vs Minnesota Wild Preview: 1. Score in the third period

The Stars have to start scoring in the third period beginning tonight. Recently, the Stars have had an issue with adding goals in the third period and they are beginning to revert back to last year’s team. The Minnesota Wild are not going to lay down and let the Stars win if they have the lead going into the third period. Jake Oettinger needs some help and getting some third period insurance goals.
