I think Dallas Stars Social Media Manager Courtney Kramer needs to start posting the “Turn It Up” post at the beginning of the game. She posted that before the start of second period and Jamie Benn got the scoring started. The Stars would ride a three goal second period to a 4-1 win over the Minnesota Wild last night. Jamie Benn played probably his best game of the season and got under the Wild’s skin on the ice. Here are the three takeaways from last nights game against the Wild.
Dallas Stars vs Minnesota Wild Recap: 3. Stars shut down Kirill Kaprizov
Stars did a good job of shutting down Kaprizov last night. The Wild had a hard time trying to get in the game since he was shut down by the Stars’ defense. Jason Robertson definitely got the last laugh since he actually registered a point. The defense has been doing a good job lately of shutting down some top scorers lately, with the exception of Jack Hughes. If the Stars can continue to shut down key players like last night, I’d hate to be the Stars first round opponent in the playoffs.
Dallas Stars vs Minnesota Wild Recap: 2. Another game, another gem
Once again, Jake Oettinger is a force to be reckoned with between the pipes. He stopped 39 of 40 shots against the Wild. Every game that Oettinger plays, he continues to get better as a goaltender. It’s unfortunate that he didn’t get the shutout tonight cause he deserved it based on his play tonight. Lets see if he’s got one more game left in him against the Tampa Bay Lightning before giving him a game off.
Dallas Stars vs Minnesota Wild Recap: 1. Long live the Bennasiance
Jamie Benn had one of his best games of the season against the Wild last night. He got the scoring off by juking out the goalie so bad that it was basically a tap-in. He also was very physical on the ice checking players into the boards and getting under the Wild’s skin. Benn is having his best post covid year with 20 goals so far in the 2022-23 season. With the way Benn is playing right now, I can see the Stars having a very deep playoff run later in 2023.
