The Dallas Stars can’t get over the OT curse this season. After winning in a shootout against the Vegas Golden Knights on the road, the Stars returned home and lost 5-4 in OT to the Vancouver Canucks. This is the 13th loss in OT this season and it seems like the Stars could have won that in regulation. After finishing the three games against the teams in the Connor Bedard sweepstakes, we only earned one out of six points and that’s unacceptable.

Dallas Stars vs Vancouver Canucks Recap: 3. Otter was off last night

You could tell Jake Oettinger was due for an off night and he had one last night against the Canucks. The first goal the Canucks scored was savable by his standards. Last night would probably have been a good game to start for Scott Wedgewood so that way Oettinger could start against the Coyotes. With the back-to-back games this week, it would set up Oettinger to get some rest before the huge matchup this weekend against the Avalanche.

Dallas Stars vs Vancouver Canucks Recap: 2. Dadonov helped the offense

Evgenii Dadonov introduced himself to fans in the best way possible last night. He scored his first goal as a Dallas Star on the amazing juke of Thatcher Demko. You can check out the amazing highlight reel goal below. He showed the Denis Gurianov fans that he is definitely going to help out the offense for the remainder of the season and hopefully next season if he continues to produce. We wish Denis Gurianov all the best in Montreal, but Nill won this trade between the Stars and Canadiens.

Dallas Stars vs Vancouver Canucks Recap: 1. Defense needs help

With the trade deadline wrapping up Friday afternoon, Nill needs to make one more move before the deadline. Jakob Chychrun seems to be a trade target to go after if Arizona drops its asking price by Friday. Chychrun could be on the first power play unit and help anchor them. He can also provide some offense along with some serious defense. The Stars need to stop the bleeding on the ice and I think he could be one of the missing pieces this team needs.
