Dallas Stars have a quick turnaround against the Blackhawks
After a huge win in regulation against the Arizona Coyotes last night, the Dallas Stars have a quick turnaround. They will be taking on the Chicago Blackhawks tonight on the road. They will be going up against a Blackhawks team tonight without Patrick Kane as he was traded to the New York Rangers earlier this week. It doesn’t mean that the Blackhawks won’t give the Stars any issues tonight. They look to take advantage of a very tired Stars team. Here are the three keys of the game tonight.
Dallas Stars vs Chicago Blackhawks Recap: 3. Start Matt Murray
I know it sounds like something stupid to do with how tight the Western Conference playoff race is but hear me out. The Stars need something to get them motivated to win tonight on the road. Jake Oettinger needs a break before the huge matchup against the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday. Matt Murray would be an excellent option to start against a Blackhawks team that is trying to win the first overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft this summer.
Dallas Stars vs Chicago Blackhawks Recap: 2. Need a big game from Benn and Seguin
Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn need to have a huge game tonight against the Blackhawks. Seguin is coming off a three point performance against the Coyotes. Another huge game from him would do wonders tonight. Benn could also benefit from a great game on the road as a warmup for the game on Saturday where we will definitely need him. Both players need to send a threat to the other Western Conference playoff teams tonight against Chicago.
Dallas Stars vs Chicago Blackhawks Recap: 1. Unleash Wyatt “Red Bull” Johnston
Wyatt Johnston is another player that needs to have another huge game. He was very helpful on the penalty kill last night against the Coyotes. They will need him to be the “little pesky brother” to Chicago tonight. They need him to be very physical against the Blackhawks on the penalty kill unit. They also need him to provide some offense as well as he’s due for a couple of goals.
