The Dallas Stars return home for one of the biggest home games of the season. They will be taking on their potential first-round matchup, the Seattle Kraken. The other thing that the Stars will be doing tomorrow night is hosting their annual Pride Night. The Stars will be taking the ice for warmups in their special Pride Night warmup jerseys. All the proceeds from the jersey auction and the Dallas Stars 50/50 raffle will benefit Pride Frisco and Dallas Hope Charities.

Dallas Stars vs Seattle Kraken Preview: 3. Get the top line cooking

The Stars need to get their top line of Joe Pavelski, Jason Robertson, and Roope Hintz going against the Kraken. They made their presence felt in the last game against the Calgary Flames. I want to see them set up Robertson at the top of the blue line for a snipe. The Kraken are going to come into the American Airlines Center ticked off for the back-to-back losses at home against the Stars. If the top line can get going tonight against the Kraken, the Stars should have a good shot at winning.

Dallas Stars vs Seattle Kraken Preview: 2. Shut down Beniers

The Stars need to shut down their red-hot rookie Matty Beniers. Wyatt Johnston just passed him for being the top rookie scorer in the league with 20 goals. If they want to help Johnston win the Calder Trophy, the Stars need to shut him down so voters change their minds about him. Right now, Johnston is on a scoring streak right now and could overtake Beniers as the top choice for the Calder Trophy.

Dallas Stars vs Seattle Kraken Preview: 1. Get back to being a shutdown defense

The Stars need to get back to shutting down teams from the opening face off. If you want a deep playoff run, you can’t give up five goals a game. The Stars might be seeing these guys in the first round of the NHL Playoffs if they win the Central Division. So far this season, the Stars have had their number. They need to play like they did over in Seattle and get back to shutting down their opponents before the playoffs start.
