The Dallas Stars look to continue their winning ways as they host the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night at the American Airlines Center. The Stars will also be hosting the first-ever Indian Heritage Night for the first time as a franchise. The Stars can’t take the Canucks lightly because the last time that they did, they lost 5-2. It will be interesting to see how the Stars handle Jake Oettinger since he’s played so much hockey lately. Here are the three keys of the game for the Stars tonight.
Dallas Stars vs Vancouver Canucks Preview: 3. What to do with Mr. Otter
With Matt Murray being recalled from Cedar Park after spending a week getting some reps in, it will be interesting to see how the Stars handle Jake Oettinger. The Athletic Dallas Stars Reporter Saad Yousuf came up with a great way to manage his workload over the next couple of weeks below. It will allow him to get some rest while still fighting to win the Central Division. I hope to hear that Matt Murray gets the start tonight against the Canucks.
Dallas Stars vs Vancouver Canucks Preview: 2. Guard the same two guys again
The Stars need to guard Andrei Kuzmenko and Elias Pettersson once again if they want a shot to beat the Canucks at home tonight. Kuzmenko is currently the leader in goals for the Canucks with 35 goals and Pettersson is right behind him with 33 goals. I hate to ask Miro Heiskanen to play another 39 minutes tonight but we will need him to log a bunch of minutes. Hopefully, Nils Lundkvist can help take some of the workload off of Heiskanen tonight.
Dallas Stars vs Vancouver Canucks Preview: 1. Got to keep winning
The Stars need to keep racking up wins as the regular season comes to a close over the next couple of weeks. The Stars still have a shot to win the Central Division but with Colorado and Minnesota right behind them, every game is a must-win from here on out. The Stars have a pretty easy schedule down the stretch (minus Colorado) and it looks doable.
