Dallas Stars wrestle with the Nashville Predators tonight at the AAC

The Dallas Stars return home after winning two out of three on the road to take on the Nashville Predators. The Stars did get some good news as Scott Wedgewood completed his rehab assignment down in Cedar Park this weekend.

There is a very good shot that he will get the nod to start tonight after Jake Oettinger just finished a back-to-back start situation. The Stars need to get this win tonight against the Predators to remain in the race for the Stanley Cup Playoffs and the Central Division race. Let’s take a look at the three keys of the game tonight for the Stars if they want the two points.

Dallas Stars vs Nashville Predators Preview: 3. Attack the net

The Stars did a good job of this against the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday night, they just ran into a really good goalie in Alexandar Georgiev. The Nashville Predators will probably start Juuse Saros in goal tonight against the Stars. If the Stars can get some pressure early and get some goals, the Stars should come out on top tonight with the win.

Dallas Stars vs Nashville Predators Preview: 2. Stop Matt Duchene

The Stars will have a tough task in stopping Matt Duchene tonight. Duchene is currently the leading goal scorer going into tonight’s matchup at the American Airlines Center. The Stars can’t leave him open at all tonight. The Stars learned the hard way in the last game against the Avalanche about leaving guys wide open in front of the net. The Stars need to keep him cold tonight instead of letting him get hot.

Dallas Stars vs Nashville Predators Preview: 1. Start Scott Wedgewood

I bet you that Scott Wedgewood will be starting in the net tonight against the Nashville Predators. After having a stellar rehab outing this weekend against the San Jose Barracuda, let’s see what he can do at the NHL level of competition after that knee injury. Jake Oettinger would sure appreciate it after starting Friday and Saturday on the road.
