The Dallas Stars are coming off a pretty commanding win over the St. Louis Blues last night. Well, both teams are flipping venues for round two tonight. The Stars will host the St. Louis Blues tonight for their final game of the regular season and Fan appreciation night.

The Stars are looking to win to remain in contention for the Central Division crown. If the Stars can win tonight and the Colorado Avalanche lose one of their last two games, the Stars will take it. However, it was just announced that the Winnipeg Jets would be resting a bunch of their starters tonight against the Colorado Avalanche. Let’s take a look at what the Stars need to do in order to win here tonight in the regular season finale against the St. Louis Blues.

Dallas Stars vs Colorado Avalanche: 3. Play clean hockey

The Stars need to play clean hockey tonight in order to get ready for the playoffs. What I mean by that is no turnovers in the neutral zone, no breakaways for the other team, and try not to commit penalties tonight. The last thing the Stars need to do is get into a bad habit right before the playoffs begin. If the Stars can play clean hockey tonight, We will have an easy win over the Blues.

Dallas Stars vs Colorado Avalanche: 2. Stars need to shut down Kyrou again

The Stars need to go out on the ice tonight and shut down Jordan Kyrou again. I mentioned in the last pregame article that he is their top goal scorer and can easily turn a game around with a goal. It’s a pretty simple game plan, shut him down and you basically have a win. I don’t see any other Blues players more motivated other than him tonight.

Dallas Stars vs Colorado Avalanche: 1. Get ready for the Minnesota Wild

The Stars also need to get their mindsets ready to play the Minnesota Wild in the first round. While winning the Central Division and playing the Seattle Kraken would be nice, I don’t see it happening with the way Winnipeg and Nashville are getting their “C” teams ready for them. It’s okay to take on the Wild in the first round. They are injured right now so I don’t see it being a big deal having to take them on in the first round starting on Monday or Tuesday.
