The Dallas Stars have backed themselves into a corner that they haven’t been in all postseason long. They return to the American Airlines Center after losing two straight games in OT out on the Vegas Strip against the Golden Knights. Games 3 and 4 are pivotal if the Stars want to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals.

In order for the Stars to get back in this series, they have to win the next two games on home ice. The Stars have done really well at home during the postseason so I’m not too worried. However, if they lose one game at home, it could be the end of the season for the Stars. Stars need to play like they did in Game 2 minus their little mistakes. Here are the three keys of the game tonight if they want to get back into this series.

Dallas Stars vs Vegas Golden Knights Recap: 3. Attack Adin Hill

Now I don’t mean literally beat him up tonight even though that could work to the Stars’ advantage with him not in goal. What I mean is they have to blitz him all night long with shots on goal. They cannot let up on him after scoring two goals. They have to keep getting the puck on the net even if the Stars are up 4-0. Just keep attacking him until the final horn sounds tonight.

Dallas Stars vs Vegas Golden Knights Recap: 2. Be on the same page

The Stars have to be on the same page tonight in terms of passing the puck. One little mistake passing the puck led to the Knights sending the game to overtime. I don’t want to see another Ryan Suter mistake tonight from the defenseman trying to clear the puck. Make sure your teammates are open and ready for passes.

Dallas Stars vs Vegas Golden Knights Recap: 1. Defend your city

The Stars need to come out of the gate tonight with the purpose of defending their home ice. They have done a good job of defending their home ice this postseason and during the regular season against the Golden Knights. Let them know that they aren’t in Vegas anymore and if they want the Cup, they will have to do so by going through Dallas on home ice.
