You could hear a pin drop in T-Mobile Arena drop when Ty Dellandrea scored his second goal of the game in the 3rd period. Those two goals scored by Dellandrea are the reason why the Dallas Stars are coming back home to play Game 6 on Monday night at the American Airlines Center. The Stars would go on to win 4-2 against the Golden Knights tonight in a tightly contested game that swung the momentum of this series over to Dallas. Let’s go into the three takeaways from the Stars’ game 5 win at T-Mobile Arena.
Dallas Stars vs Vegas Golden Knights Recap: 3. Team responded after trailing twice
The Stars went out there tonight and made sure to keep this series alive for Jamie Benn to have a redemption arc. When the Stars went down 1-0 early on in the game, the Stars countered back with a goal of their own from Luke Glendening. The Golden Knights responded again in the second period and Jason Robertson pulled a Magician’s trick to get the puck over Adin Hill. Their willingness to respond when trailing is the main reason why Game 6 will be played in Dallas.
Dallas Stars vs Vegas Golden Knights Recap: 2. Ty Dellandrea redemption arc
If Ty Dellandrea was looking to make his mark on this long Stars playoff run, he sure picked a wonderful time to do it. Ty Dellandrea scored two goals in 87 seconds to seal the game up in the 3rd period tonight. He became the fourth player to record his first multi goal playoff game in which his team was facing elimination. You could tell in the last series when he was a healthy scratch he wasn’t happy about it. Hopefully, DeBoer keeps him in the lineup for Monday night.

Dallas Stars vs Vegas Golden Knights Recap: 1. Jake Oettinger villain mode
The Stars needed Jake Oettinger to be an absolute villain tonight and that version of him showed up. I thought we were about to get a goalie duel going into OT to see if a Game 6 was going to be played. Playing in 80 games as a rookie is a very daunting task and he has lived up to it. You can tell he wants to play in the Stanley Cup Finals as a rookie. When facing elimination, Oettinger puts on a performance for the ages. We just need two more of those in order to win the Western Conference.
