The Dallas Stars are starting to look at who they should keep and let go for next season. Being in the offseason comes tons and tons of different decisions to be made, whether you’re talking about trades, team structure, draft picks, and free agency. Looking into the world of Dallas’ free agents, it’s important to make those decisions on who to keep and who to let go.

We’re going to dive into and analyze which 3 of the Stars’ FA’s are least likely to return.

Which free agents from the Dallas Stars are most likely to not return back to the team next season?

In no particular order, here are the top 3 FA’s least likely to return to Dallas next season:

1. Max Domi

Max Domi has already expressed how much he was loving playing in Chicago as well as his interest in wanting to go back and play for them next year as well. Given that the Blackhawks got the #1 Draft Pick, it’s no secret why Domi wants to go back: he wants to be on a fresh and new team that has even the slightest bit of potential to do very well in the future.

He wants some stability for his future given all of the skills that he’s got to offer any team that he’s on. Dallas basically got what they needed out of him, got what they wanted, so now, for my sake as well, they should just ship him off to the Chicago Blackhawks.

2. Dylan Wells

Here’s yet another goalie for you. Sure, he’s got a good SV%, but it’s really nothing that spectacular compared to Adam Scheel (talked about previously right over here). They don’t really need him 200% per se, as the goalies and backups that they’ve already got seem to be just enough for what they need/are looking for.

Nobody really seems to know all that much about him, but maybe that’s just because we need to see just a bit more from him playing in/for the Idaho Steelheads. All in all, he’s not a bad player or a bad goalie by any means, the Stars just simply don’t need him.

3. Dawson Barteaux

Upon looking at some of his previous lines of work, he’s definitely got more non-scoring games than scoring games for sure. Now, don’t get me wrong, I know that he’s a D-man and they don’t always score the most goals, but there’s just not enough production coming out of this guy when it matters the most, especially.

He does have tons and tons of assists though, so if that’s something that Dallas is looking to do/score more of, then Barteaux might be their guy and they might wanna rethink letting him go.

There are other FA D-men that are much better and deserve more of a chance; Osari Laaskonen has more goals already and has already proven himself, Ben Gleason has more goals, also tons of assists, and needs his time to shine in the spotlight for once.

Will Butcher who is 28 years old deserves a chance to show the Dallas Stars what he’s made of before he gets too old and retirement starts creeping up on him. Overall, Dawson Barteauz isn’t a bad  D-man per se, I just think it’s getting to be old news and they need something just a tad bit fresh!

That’s a wrap on the top 3 free agents that are least likely to remain on the Dallas Stars!
