Dallas Stars’ fans have all talked about top prospects Mavrik Bourque and Logan Stankoven forever. The top prospect no one has really ever talked about is Center Antonio Stranges. I haven’t heard a lot of fans talk about him over the last couple of years and it surprises me a bit.
He has one of the highest ceilings next to Logan Stankoven. He’s got two more years remaining on his entry-level contract. Let’s take a look at what he needs to do in order to make the Stars’ opening night roster down the road.
Dallas Stars Prospect Antonio Stranges: Looking back at last season in Cedar Park
Stranges had an up-and-down season last year at Cedar Park with the Texas Stars. After posting 31 goals and 53 assists with the London Knights during the 2021-22 season, Stranges only played 19 games with the Texas Stars. That is at least one-fourth of the total AHL season.

This had to do with his work ethic during practice possibly. Another reason why is Texas Stars Head Coach Neil Graham didn’t have enough room in the lineup for him. He was sent down to the ECHL to play with the Idaho Steelheads where he recorded four goals and eight assists. He also finished with that same point total with the Texas Stars as well.
Dallas Stars Prospect Antonio Stranges: Looking towards the Future
After seeing that Antonio Stranges had a great rookie development camp in July, I think we will see him make some noise this year. With the Texas Stars losing a lot of key pieces from last year, Stranges should be able to make the roster in the AHL. I think what derailed him last season was the injury and the fact the Texas Stars had no room for him to get playing time.
Fans should be really excited about him moving forward. If you watched the highlight of him above, he’s got a huge ceiling of offensive potential if he stays healthy. I think he will have a breakout season this year with the Texas Stars.
