I would just like to say it’s been a very dull summer so far in DFW. The heat has been through the roof lately and all we have to watch on TV are reruns of our favorite TV shows and Texas Rangers Baseball. Now Rangers baseball has been quite entertaining at least for this summer but nothing compares to the thrilling action of Dallas Stars hockey. It will be great to get back into the American Airlines Center and watch very competitive hockey.

We have missed the thrilling action of this somewhat young but very competitive team since they were in the playoffs. It stinks that we couldn’t get over the hump of beating the Vegas Golden Knights and possibly go on to win the Stanley Cup.

Fans have missed the videos of Wyatt “Red Bull” Johnston having the “zoomies” going down the tunnel after warmups. They have also missed the fantastic saves of one Mr. Jake “Otter” Oettinger which allowed us to go as far as we could last season.

We have another 28 days until September when the gentlemen take the ice for preseason hockey. I know it stinks that we have to wait another month but the light is visible at the end of the tunnel. We just need to preserve and get through August.

In the meantime here at Blackout Dallas, will be bringing you a variety of articles this month to get you ready for hockey. We will be doing prospect profiles of different prospects that you might see at training camp this year. We will also be doing a Central Division preview where we will be looking at the other Central Division teams to see if they have improved or not over the offseason.

We will also be taking a look at realistic stats for this upcoming season for some of your favorite Dallas Stars players. I know it’s been a rough offseason for some of our readers and fans, but you can see the light at the end of the tunnel as hockey season is only a month away.
