The Dallas Stars need to take a break after the very disappointing loss in Vegas on Tuesday night. Luckily, the team will get to unwind tonight going duck hunting against the Anaheim Ducks. Luckily, the Stars don’t have to wait five days before this matchup (looking at you NHL). Hopefully, the Stars can get their offense going after having some issues in the first two games of the season. Let’s take a look at the three keys of the game tonight as the Stars take on the Ducks.

Dallas Stars vs. Anaheim Ducks Preview: 3. Get the offense going

The Dallas Stars need to get their offense going against the Ducks tonight. In the last couple of games, they have only been able to score a couple of goals. With the offensive talent that the Stars have on the roster, they could be averaging three to four goals a game. Five days off between games doesn’t really help out with getting the offense flowing. Hopefully tonight. the Stars will be able to get their offense back up to speed where it should be.

Dallas Stars vs. Anaheim Ducks Preview: 2. Shut down Frank Vatrano

The Dallas Stars need to focus their attention on Frank Vatrano tonight as he is the leading goal-scorer of the Ducks. He has three goals in their first two games of the season. For the love of all things possible, Esa Lindell should not be defending him tonight. Right now Lindell is on the hot seat with the fanbase after blocking two of the goals scored against Jake Oettinger this season. I would rather see Miro Heiskanen be that elite defenseman again tonight and plaster Vatrano into the boards.

Dallas Stars vs. Anaheim Ducks Preview: 1. Help out Otter

I feel like Jake Oettinger is the smart one in a school group project and has done all the work so far. His teammates have got to pitch in and help take it to the Ducks. So far Oettinger has basically been the “defense” that has kept the Stars in the game all the way to the shootout. I don’t know if he can do that for the remaining 80 games of the season. He needs Lindell to not screen him, for the offense to give him a nice cushion and to win the game in regulation.
