Dallas Stars look to continue win streak against the Arizona Coyotes
The Dallas Stars return home after a very successful road trip where they went 3-0 against some tough teams. They look to continue that three-game winning streak tonight as they welcome the Arizona Coyotes to town. The Stars can’t get cocky and think they have their fourth straight win in a row. This Coyotes team is not the one we saw last season, they improved significantly over the offseason. Here are the three keys of the game tonight against the Coyotes.
Dallas Stars vs. Arizona Coyotes Preview: 3. Don’t let up on the power play
The Dallas Stars flexed their muscles on the power play against the Minnesota Wild on Sunday night. They tied a franchise record for most power play goals scored in a game. The Stars can’t let up tonight when the Coyotes go to the penalty box. I want to see the Stars punish them for their actions by scoring goals on the power play tonight. It’s the best way to punish a team for committing penalties. Let’s see if the Stars can shatter the franchise record tonight even though it’s unlikely.
Dallas Stars vs. Arizona Coyotes: 2. Shut down Clayton Keller and Michael Carcone
The Stars are going to have to take down a two-headed Coyote tonight in order to win. Clayton Keller and Michael Carcone are the two best scorers on the Coyotes going into tonight’s matchup at the American Airlines Center. Miro Heiskanen and the defense will be short-handed tonight as Thomas Harley is out with an injury tonight. Joel Hanley is going to have to play his best defense tonight in order to help the Stars out. If the Stars can stop these two, they should come away with a win tonight.
Dallas Stars vs. Arizona Coyotes: 1. Everyone needs to contribute to the scoring tonight
Jake Oettinger will more than likely be in goal tonight against a very good Coyotes team. He is going to need the Stars’ offense to have a really good game tonight in order to win. I want to see all the lines contribute to the scoring frenzy tonight. The one thing that I like seeing is at least one person on each line contributing a goal. I want to see them score another eight goals as well. If the Stars can get on the scoresheet early tonight, the Stars should cruise to an easy victory over the Coyotes.
