The Dallas Stars have made it through 16 games (9-5-2) of the 2026-27 season, and including their Saturday night meeting with Macklin Celebrini and the San Jose Sharks, the club has 10 games left in November. With the Central Division standings undergoing a shakeup, the Stars find themselves chasing a couple of teams other than the Colorado Avalanche. Which remaining November matchups should Stars fans be most excited about?
5. November 17 and 19 @ Vegas Golden Knights
The Stars have a critical two-game road trip coming up in the middle of the month, with consecutive contests against the Vegas Golden Knights. Considering the playoff history between these two clubs, there’s no love lost. In addition, since both clubs will be battling for a top seed in the Western Conference, these two meetings could produce a four-point swing in favor of one team.
4. November 22 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins
The Pittsburgh Penguins are not the same juggernaut they have been in the past, but they still have Sidney Crosby, and every point he collects inches him closer to 1,800. Considering the Penguins are hanging out at the bottom of the Metropolitan Division after clinching a playoff spot last year, the Stars need to defeat teams beneath them in the standings if they hope to finish near the top of the Central Division.
3. November 15 vs. Florida Panthers
Out of all the opponents left on the November schedule, the Florida Panthers pose a significant challenge right before the Vegas trip. Armed with both Matthew and Brady Tkachuk, the Panthers have been recording hat tricks at a frightening rate, and Dallas could be the site of their next one. Moreover, Florida remains a legitimate Stanley Cup contender, giving the Stars an opportunity to measure themselves against one of the NHL's top teams.
2. November 12 vs. Winnipeg Jets
Last month, the Stars' first meeting with the Winnipeg Jets since Connor Hellebuyck departed ended with a 3-2 overtime win. Although the Jets are not on pace to duplicate their Presidents’ Trophy win from two seasons ago, they are a pesky team that recently made NHL history with a four-goal comeback against Montreal. For years, Winnipeg was a difficult opponent because of its star goaltender. Now, the Jets pose a different kind of challenge, one Dallas can't afford to take for granted.
1. November 28 vs. Utah Mammoth
For years, fans across the NHL knew this day would eventually come: the Utah Mammoth are no longer an easy two points on the schedule. Instead, they are a force to be reckoned with within the Central Division and currently maintain a spot over the Stars. These two teams haven’t met yet this season, so it will be a fun and intense battle to see which team wants the two points more. A win this early in the season against a divisional foe could go a long way when the final buzzer sounds in April.
