The Dallas Stars are greatly involved in their community, and sled hockey is just another way they support and connect with hockey fans.

The Dallas Stars just aren’t sit-back and do nothing kind of guys. There have been several charity events that are constants on the Stars calendar, and sled hockey events have always been a favorite.

Not only have these events been a great opportunity to raise funds for various organizations, but the players that participate always seem to have a great time, too.

Sled hockey has a special place in the heart of the Stars organization because sled hockey is an alternative for hockey lovers with disabilities who may not otherwise be able to play the game they love.

Sled hockey follows pretty much the same rules, but allows players to do so on sleds instead of skates.

The Stars are partnering with the local sled hockey association, the Dallas Sled Stars, which is a part of Southwest Wheelchair Athletic Association (SWAA).

On September 9th, the Stars are set to hold a charity game at the Dr. Pepper Center to raise funds for the SWAA.

Thinking about going out, catching a sled hockey game, and supporting a great cause? Well, let the video clip below be the final convincing factor.

This year, in addition to supporting SWAA, the Stars will be switching it up with their charity game roster. Various players have participated in the past, such as Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn. This year, Antoine Roussel, Adam Cracknell, and Dan Hamhuis will all come out to take part in the contest between the Dallas Sled Stars Hockey and Texas Sled Hockey teams.

General admission entry is $20, while you can snag a great meet and greet opportunity for $100.
