The Dallas Stars announced this morning that single-game tickets for the 2017-18 season are now on sale. With the announcement came a few extra details about different games this season.
Believe it or not, the NHL 2017-18 regular season is just around the corner. In 52 days, the Dallas Stars will hit the ice against the Vegas Golden Knights and officially kick off their quest for the Stanley Cup.
Will you be at the game? If you are free and have enough saved up for it, now would be a good time to get your seat reserved for the big night. And as of this morning, now you can.
Single game tickets went on sale this morning on the Dallas Stars official website, meaning that you can now purchase tickets to 40 of the 41 home games in the 2017-18 season. Resale tickets (tickets owned by other fans) have been on sale for a while on different sports tickets sites, but now you can purchase directly from the Dallas Stars site.
The only game that is not currently for sale on the Stars’ website is the November 24th game against the Calgary Flames. That is also the night of longtime Star Jere Lehtinen’s jersey retirement, so tickets will be available for purchase at a later date.

If you are looking to go to a game or two this season, now comes the part where you select which games you would like to be present for. Jere Lehtinen’s retirement ceremony is probably on your list, but which other games should make the list?
When the schedule was initially released, we posted an article laying out some of the special nights on the slate. There are plenty of good home games to take in on this year’s schedule, but the Dallas Stars added some extra hype with a tweet that they released in addition to the single game tickets announcement.
The obvious ones in addition to Jere Lehtinen night include Opening Night against the Vegas Golden Knights and the annual New Year’s Eve game this year against the San Jose Sharks. But there are other good games as well.
In the tweet, the Stars pointed out Patrick Sharp and the Blackhawks’ return to Dallas on Dec. 2 and 21. They also highlighted Feb. 9 when the back-to-back champion Pittsburgh Penguins arrive in Big D.
Fan appreciation night is scheduled for March 31 when the Dallas Stars play their final home game of the regular season against the Minnesota Wild.
There is one “diamond in the rough” game that was unknown about up until the tweet was sent out. On Saturday, Feb. 3, the Stars are in town against the Minnesota Wild. Apparently that will also be “Retro Night.”
What that means exactly has yet to be determined, but there are a number of ways it could go. The Wild and Stars have a longstanding rivalry ever since the North Stars were relocated from Minnesota to Texas. The “State of Hockey” lost their NHL franchise for seven years before receiving the Wild as an expansion team.

Will there be a jersey giveaway? Will the Stars wear the North Stars jerseys? There could be any number of things that go down that night. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for the full promotional schedule rundown.
But between now and opening night, start planning which games you want to check out and begin looking at the various ticket prices to find the best deals. It will be here before you know it.
