The Dallas Stars player power rankings have returned with the Blackout Dallas rundown of the best Stars performers in the month of February.
February is generally a month of change in the National Hockey League. The postseason picture starts to formulate, teams decide whether to sell or buy, and the annual trade deadline always shakes things up. For the Dallas Stars, it was a little different.
We still don’t know if this team is a Stanley Cup contender, after general manager Jim Nill and group stuck to their team of Stars and made no acquisitions during the deadline. While they remain in a Wild Card position in the uber-competitive Western Conference, we still have no idea if they will even qualify for the postseason.
The Dallas Stars are difficult to get a read on. Are they bonafide Cup challengers? Are they a guaranteed first-round exit? Are they a postseason team? Are they too inconsistent to even belong in the playoffs?
One thing is for sure: this is a lot of fun. Uncertainty is excitement – this is true especially in sports.

Nothing is fun when the result is predetermined, and the Stars’ variability makes wearing the silver star with the capital “D” inside a thing to be proud of. “Hey, my team is fun because they’re unpredictable” is unusual, but cool as hell.
Speaking of unpredictability, this month’s power rankings saw a lot of movement all across the board. Including t- screw it, i’m done, just read the thing.
There is nothing I can say here that will improve your experience on the site. This is if you’re even reading it, I mean, who knows, you could have bypassed this entire section.
Keep in mind, the power rankings have no effect on the way the Stars play and they are all based on my perception of how each player is performing. Plus, we like to get creative and humorous with this monthly piece. Enjoy.
