The Traverse City Tournament kicks off this afternoon, and the Dallas Stars prospects will get off and running tonight. Here’s the schedule and how you can watch each game.

Dallas Stars hockey is back (sort of) starting on Friday night in Traverse City, Mich. and there’s plenty of reason to be excited.

With the annual Traverse City Tournament getting underway up north, eight different NHL teams have a chance to throw some of their top prospects in different in-game situations in a way to test their readiness. Different players carry different scenarios, though, so it’s a great opportunity to see the potential and use the tournament as a way to make decisions going into the season ahead.

The Stars are no different. They comprised their roster using some of their top prospects, built an effective group in all three zones, and should have a solid chance at winning the tournament with an ultimately stacked roster.

There’s a lot to watch for in their tournament play as well. The debut of Miro Heiskanen in a North American game, Colton Point’s first step with the Dallas Stars organization as a player under contract, and the potential of plenty of young forwards and defenders from within the system.

Depending on where the Stars finish within the Ted Lindsay Division (which is made up of the Stars, Red Wings, Wild, and Rangers), they will compete for either first, third, fifth, or seventh in the tournament. Here is the schedule for the final day of the tournament.

Seventh place game: 2:00 p.m. CT (fourth place vs. fourth place)

Fifth place game: 2:30 p.m. CT (third place vs. third place)

Third place game: 5:30 p.m. CT (second place vs. second place)

Championship game: 6:00 p.m. CT (first place vs. first place)

All of the games will take place at the Centre Ice Arena in Traverse City and can be seen on Fox Sports Go. That gives you four opportunities to catch Stars prospects in action.

The Stars’ lineup for their first game was released earlier today, so take a look.

It will be your first glimpse at some of the brightest young Dallas Stars. And if you catch tonight’s game, you’ll be able to say that you watched Miro Heiskanen play a hockey game in a Dallas Stars uniform for the first time. So, that’s pretty cool.

But whatever the case may be, make sure you tune in at some point and catch a glimpse at what the Stars’ prospects look like.
