Tonight, the longest road trip of the season continues as the Dallas Stars face off against the reigning Stanley Cup champions.

The Dallas Stars have won their last two road games, finally turning things around from a rough start away from home.

The Capitals are without Tom Wilson tonight, as he’s serving his 20-game suspension. Last week, Bettman upheld the suspension, but the Capitals are appealing again to a neutral arbitrator.

On the Stars roster, Dillon Heatherington will draw into the line-up tonight after getting the call-up from the AHL yesterday while Connor Carrick‘s on injured reserve. This means the defensive pairings are jumbled up from what they were on Thursday.

More from Blackout Dallas

Heatherington is coming in to replace the injured Marc Methot, who is day-to-day. The defensemen injuries are piling up for the Stars, and it’s getting concerning. Hopefully, Carrick and Methot can be back in the line-up soon.

Alexander Radulov is back in Dallas, so he’ll miss the rest of the road trip while he recovers from his injury. His offense is definitely missed, but the Stars did okay in Toronto without him, and hopefully they’ll be okay for the rest of the road trip.

The forward lines will basically stay the same for tonight. Brett Ritchie had a rough night on Thursday, so it wouldn’t have been surprising to see him healthy scratched to let Justin Dowling come back in. Instead, he’ll get a chance to redeem himself tonight, and hopefully stay out of the box while providing some offense.

The Stars didn’t manage to get a win over the Capitals last season, but they’re looking more fragile this year, and the Stars have a good shot at keeping their winning streak going.
