With the holiday season coming into full swing, the Dallas Stars are taking part in a special initiative for Friday night’s home contest against the Bruins.

The Dallas Stars are no strangers to partnering with good causes. Whether it’s reaching out to the community through visiting children’s hospitals and nursing homes or players hosting certain groups at games, they have a regular trend of reaching out.

On Friday night, they will once again bring a good cause to light during their matchup against the Boston Bruins.

The Stars are partnering with Buckner International for Friday night’s contest in an effort to raise awareness for National Adoption Month. And this time around, they are asking for the help of the fans.

Throughout Friday night’s game, Buckner volunteers will be stationed throughout the American Airlines Center, accepting donations to create care packages. These care packages will be delivered to foster care children in need following the game.

The needed donation items include items such as children’s toothbrushes and toothpaste, children’s shampoo and conditioner, and any children’s books that are new or gently used. These items will be compiled and used in the care packages.

In addition to Buckner achieving their goal, a handful of Dallas Stars fans will also be rewarded for their help and donations. The first 200 fans to donate any of the approved items listed above will receive two tickets to the Stars game on Jan. 2, 2019 against the New Jersey Devils. It’s a Wednesday night game and will take place during Christmas break for most schools in the area, so it’s a great chance to easily find your way to another regular season game while also helping out a good cause.

In addition to the donations and chance at tickets, the Dallas Stars will also host a party on the AT&T Plaza prior to puck drop, with live music provided and Stars mascot Victor E. Green making an appearance. A family served by Buckner Foster Care and Adoption will also get to visit the Stars’ tunnel between periods to interact with the players.

But wait, there’s more. There are also discounted tickets currently on sale for Friday’s Buckner Night with the Dallas Stars. Fans can visit www.dallasstars.com/Buckner and use the promo code “BUCKNER.” For group tickets of 10 or more people, contact Stars Group Sales at 214-387-5536.
