The Dallas Stars finally had two days off in a row, but now it’s time to get back to business in a game against their former coach.

After stepping down as the Dallas Stars head coach, Ken Hitchcock took an advisory role, but now he’s back behind the bench, this time with the Oilers.

Since taking over for the Oilers, he’s been a mediocre 1-1-1, as middle-of-the-road as you can get.

Hitchcock won’t be the only familiar face tonight, as the Oilers have both Alex Chiasson and Kris Russell on their roster.

The Stars are still facing a mountain of injuries, but both Ben Bishop and Martin Hanzal were out skating with the team today. That’s good news, especially where Bishop is concerned.

Bishop is going to have to skate a bit before he can be ready to come back in, and it sounds like there’s a chance he’s ready to go by Saturday’s game in Vancouver.

It would’ve been great to have him back in time for this back-to-back, but if Anton Khudobin and Landon Bow can get the team through it with 2 or 3 points, the Stars are in good shape when Bishop gets back.
