The Dallas Stars looked really good last week, but this week has been a different story.

While the Dallas Stars seem to finally have their power play rolling again, they’ve dropped their last two games.

They couldn’t make a comeback happen against the Golden Knights on Sunday, but the loss to the Ducks last night was particularly rough.

The Stars had another outstanding second period against the Ducks, and went up 3-1 after letting Anaheim get the first goal.

More from Blackout Dallas

It felt like the first game against the Ducks this season, except this time the Stars didn’t let themselves get into such a deep hole in the first. That changed when Ondrej Kase finished his hat trick and then the Ducks took a 4-3 lead.

The Stars kept pushing back for a while, but they seemed deflated after the Ducks made it 5-3 following a goal review over a kicked puck, then the Ducks added an empty netter.

The Stars are currently just outside of a wild card spot, but they’ve got less games played than some of the teams ahead of them. They’re certainly able to get back into that spot by the time they come back home. However, Minnesota is fast approaching and the Stars need to get things back on track quickly if they don’t want to get in too deep of a hole.

They’ve done a good job without John Klingberg in the line-up, but it would be terrible for them to let all the hard work go to waste. That might happen if they let this skid pile up until they’re too far out by the time Klingberg comes back. There’s simply no room for error in the Western Conference, especially when playing other Western teams.
