After winning four straight, the Dallas Stars are now in danger of losing four straight.

Tonight’s match against the Avalanche is the last stop for the Dallas Stars on this road trip, and they really need to snap their losing streak.

The Stars usually have a rough time in Denver, so it’s going to be tough for them to overcome that tonight.

There’s still another week or two until the Stars start to get some of their injured defensemen back, and they need to right the ship before then.

More from Blackout Dallas

Denis Gurianov got a call-up after the loss to San Jose. The roster spot was open after the Stars sent Roope Hintz down when Martin Hanzal came back. They also lost Gemel Smith to Boston in the process after they claimed him off waivers. Initially, Hintz was expected back up during this road trip, but the Stars went with Gurianov instead to reward his play in the AHL.

Hanzal has definitely looked slow at times during his return, but he brought some power play magic back to the team. The power play has been atrocious, but they turned it around last week. There’s still a lot of ground to make up and consistency to find before the Stars are out of the woods on the power play, but it’s already been a relief to get a few goals.

The Stars haven’t had a lot of Central Division games yet this year, but tonight’s game against the Avalanche is a big one. They need to come out fast and stay strong if they want to make this happen. The Avalanche played last night in St. Louis and went to overtime, so the Stars need to capitalize early and take advantage of the first period as much as they can.

The Stars had a wild third period the last time they were in Denver. Hopefully, tonight’s game will end in their favor instead.
