With the 2018-19 season in the rearview mirror for the Dallas Stars, it’s time to start selling off team merchandise from this past year to make room for next year’s new products. As a result, The Hangar is hosting a Summer Sale on their Stars merchandise.

Whenever a team’s season ends in any professional sport, the prospect of change floats into the spotlight. Whether they missed the playoffs or fell short somewhere along the postseason road, the fact of the matter is that they didn’t achieve the ultimate goal.

And so, the hope for change is established. As the offseason rolls around, fans begin construing their own ideas of the “perfect summer” for their team, including which players the team should both let go and retain as well as which players they should target on the market and in the draft.

It’s a natural, annual cycle and makes the period of inactivity more enticing and intriguing. But the roster isn’t the only part of the organization that undergoes change. The fan shops and websites selling team merchandise also endure a hefty dose of change.

That’s because with every new season comes new products for fans to buy and enjoy. New shirts, hats, socks, beanies, mugs, and other merchandise and memorabilia from a host of different brands comes pouring in at the beginning of the year so fans can have a chance to buy early on in order to sport their favorite team throughout the regular season.

But what happens when they still have leftover merchandise at the end of the season and need to empty their shelves in time for the season ahead? Well, they have an offseason sale.

That’s what The Hangar (the official Dallas Stars shop) is doing on Saturday, June 1 at the North Fan Shop location at the American Airlines Center.

The Hangar announced the sale a few days ago on Twitter in an effort to raise awareness and provide Stars fans with a chance to come in and buy merchandise from this past season at reduced prices as they prepare for the offseason and the eventual 2019-20 season.

In addition to sales of up to 70 percent off, Dallas Stars head coach Jim Montgomery will be at the sale signing autographs from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Fans are limited to a maximum of one item for autographs but will have the chance to meet Montgomery while also doing their shopping.

In addition, they will also host their annual Equipment Sale later in June. The Equipment Sale offers fans the chance to buy both new and game-used equipment of players, including sticks, gloves, helmets, and more. More information on that event will come later into the month of June.

But as for this Saturday, fans will have the chance to score big savings on a variety of Dallas Stars merchandise and mingle with other Stars fans in the process. In addition, the shop is also now selling shirts for the 2020 Winter Classic.

The sale begins on Saturday at 9 a.m. and will conclude at 2 p.m.
