After three weeks of wading into the 2019 offseason, the Dallas Stars have finally reached the end of May. And with a seemingly action-packed month of June coming up, let’s wrap up the fifth month of the year with a few stories.

The Dallas Stars hopped (or rather, were pushed) onto the offseason path late on the night of May 7, 2019. After digging into a 13-day bout with the St. Louis Blues in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Pat Maroon ended what had become a thrilling and somewhat unexpected run for the Stars with a goal in double overtime of Game 7.

Two days later, the Stars hosted exit interview day and officially embarked on their 2019 offseason journey.

That was over three weeks ago. And while there’s still a lot of offseason left to deal with, this is the part of the summer where things start to get good.

More from Dallas Stars News

Sure, the last few weeks have offered some enticing stories in the Stars’ realm. John Klingberg and Radek Faksa spent some time in Slovakia at the 2019 World Championship, Esa Lindell signed a six-year extension with the team, and different players in the organization made the ballot for the 2019 NHL Fan Choice Awards.

But in the month ahead, the action will spike significantly. Dallas will make some tough decisions regarding their free agents, dive into the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, and prepare to potentially make some significant moves as the offseason takes center stage.

Before we dive into the month of June, though, let’s wrap up the month of May on an informative note. Here are some stories to keep you intrigued and informed as May exits and June enters the spotlight.
