With the 2019 Stanley Cup Final in the rearview mirror, there’s not much left for hockey fans to do besides prepare for the thick of the offseason. Before you do, though, there are some Dallas Stars that need your last-minute vote in the 2019 NHL Fan Choice Awards.

Only five days separate Dallas Stars goaltender Ben Bishop from figuring out whether or not he is the 2019 Vezina Trophy winner when the NHL Awards show begins in Vegas.

But the Awards show isn’t the only event that will make June 19, 2019 a special day for hockey fans. In addition to the top league awards and honors being handed out, it will also serve as the day that the NHL announces the winners of the 2019 Fan Choice Awards.

With the 2019 Stanley Cup Final now in the past and the NHL Entry Draft a week away from kicking off, there’s a certain lull in hockey action for the time being. While potential buyouts or trades could be on the horizon, there’s nothing concrete to watch out for or partake in over the next few days.

That’s where the NHL Fan Choice Awards come into play. And for Dallas Stars fans, it’s a chance to help their favorite organization win some bragging rights before digging into offseason coverage and hype.

The NHL Fan Choice Awards are back after a successful debut campaign at the end of the 2017-18 season. The awards consist of 20 different categories pertaining to various photos, videos, and GIFs that were shared by players and teams during the regular season. They span from lighthearted and funny to heartwarming and serious and include each of the NHL’s clubs as candidates.

And that’s where the fans come into play. Voting is solely fan-based and opened on May 15. But with the polls only being open for one month, the voting period is approaching its end.

Voting ends on Saturday, June 15, meaning that fans have just a few more hours to cast their votes.

That means that Dallas Stars fans have less than a day to cast their final votes for Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn (Best Bromance), Ben Bishop (Best Halloween Costume), Anton Khudobin (Best Goalie Mask), and for the Stars’ production department (Top Team Video).

The Stars are in the running for four different NHL Fan Choice Awards this year. And as of Friday night, it looks as though they have a pretty good shot at winning a handful of them.

As of Friday night, the Stars are leading in three of the four awards that they are in the running for. Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin lead the Best Bromance category with 44 percent, while the trio of Auston Matthews, Patrick Marleau, and Mitch Marner sits in second with 37 percent. Ben Bishop is running away with the Best Halloween Costume title with 46 percent of the vote.

Khudobin’s mask currently sits second with 27 percent, while Robin Lehner leads the pack with 32 percent.

And finally, the Stars’ production department has a narrow lead in the Top Team Video category with 33 percent of the vote. Anaheim sits close behind at 31 percent.

The numbers have consistently fluctuated over the past month, with the Stars both falling in and out of first place in various categories.
