The Dallas Stars lost at the tables in Vegas 5-4

The Dallas Stars allowed the Golden Knights to get back in the game tonight in the third and lost the game 5-4. The Stars snapped their seven game winning streak. The Star’s defense doomed them in the third period. Here is how the Stars did against the Golden Knights in Vegas

Dallas Stars vs Golden Knights recap: 1st period

Braden Holtby would hold the Golden Knights on the power play early on in the game. Jason Robertson would score on the power play midway through the first to make it 1-0 Stars. Radulov would go to the penalty box late in the first for hooking but the Stars were able to hold them off easily. The Stars would quickly go back on the penalty kill as Klingberg tripped a player.

The Stars would go into the first intermission up 1-0 over the Golden Knights even after all the power plays the Stars gave them. They would trail the Golden Knights in the shots on goal category 10-5 after the first period.

 Dallas Stars vs Golden Knights recap: 2nd period

19 seconds into the second period, Mark Stone was able to tie up the game at 1. Holtby lowered his glove for a split second and that’s all Stone needed to score. Tyler Seguin was able to score on the power play a minute later to retake the lead 2-1. That would be their second power play goal tonight. Joe Pavelski would chase Robin Lehner to the bench as he scores the third straight power play goal to make it 3-1.

Holtby continues to show why he could be a Veniza trophy finalist by end of the season as he has shut down the Knights in the second period. Jonathan Marchessault was able to get a goal late in the second to make it 3-2 Stars. The Stars would go into the second intermission up 3-2 despite being outshot 32-12. Can Holtby hold the surge and help the Stars win eight straight?

Dallas Stars vs Golden Knights recap: 3rd period

Jacob Peterson almost had a goal to make it 4-2 Stars but was knocked away by a defenseman. Braden Holtby stopped a lot of chances by Vegas early on in the third period. Joe Pavelski was able to roof one past the backup goaltender for Vegas to make it 4-2 Stars. Michael Amadio would score one less than a minute later to keep Vegas in the game. Holtby couldn’t hold off Mark Stone from tying the game with 5 minutes left as it’s 4-4 now.

Max Pacioretty was able to score and take the lead  5-4. The Golden Knights would go on to win 5-4 and snap Dallas’s seven game winning streak. The Stars will play tomorrow in LA as they go for a new win streak.
