The Dallas Stars start their quick weekend road trip to the Sunshine State in Sunrise, Florida as they take on the Florida Panthers Friday night. This will be a rematch against the team that the Stars played in Dallas as they came back from their COVID break. This will also be Jamie Benn’s 900th game according to Dallas Stars Radio Host Owen Newkirk. Here is what the Stars need to do in order to not go to OT again against the Panthers.

Dallas Stars vs Florida Panthers 3. Quick start to the game

The Stars need to come out like they did against the Kraken on Wednesday night. I want to see Jason Robertson, Joe Pavelski or Roope Hintz try to get a couple of goals to start off the game. If the Stars do get behind, I wont be too worried about it as the Stars did continue to claw their way back into the last the game with the Panthers.

Dallas Stars vs Florida Panthers 2. Play Defense

The Defense from the Stars was great on Wednesday night even though the Kraken has only played 30 games as a team. The Stars need to keep the Panthers from scoring so the game was not like the previous one in Dallas where they kept getting back into it. I don’t think fans would mind if the Stars had another blowout victory like the one on Wednesday.

Dallas Stars vs Florida Panthers 1. Play Khudobin

I know the Blackout Dallas Staff has been begging Rick Bowness to keep starting Oettinger in the net. With Khudobin up from Cedar Park for a limited time due to Holtby being on the COVID IR, this would be the best time to play him. If Dobby plays well while being up with the Stars, maybe a playoff team would take Khudobin’s contract for an insurance policy come playoff time.
